Compare AI ("the Extension") lets you type a single prompt and send it to multiple third-party AI chat services (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Perplexity, Mistral, Copilot, Kimi, and Poe) at once, displayed side by side in your browser. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use it.
The Extension does not collect, transmit, or have access to your data on any server operated by us. We do not run analytics, telemetry, or tracking of any kind, and we cannot see what you type or which sites you use.
The one thing the Extension does read is the text you type into its own search bar, purely in order to carry out its core function: delivering that text to the AI sites you have selected. That text is never sent to us or to any server we control.
When you type a prompt and press send, the Extension automatically fills and submits that exact text into the input field of each AI site you have enabled, directly inside your own browser. This happens entirely on your device — the Extension acts as an automation layer between your keyboard and the AI site's own web page, the same as if you had typed the prompt into each site yourself.
The Extension does not read, log, store, or transmit the responses those AI sites generate. It also does not modify, inspect, or collect any other content on the pages it embeds beyond what is needed to fill and submit your prompt.
The Extension stores a small set of preferences locally in your browser (not on any external server): which AI sites you've selected, your light/dark theme preference, whether "performance mode" is on, and a local usage counter used only to decide when to show an in-extension "rate this extension" prompt. None of this identifies you personally, and none of it ever leaves your device or is synced, sold, or shared.
We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose any information to third parties, because we do not collect or hold any information ourselves.
However, by design, the prompt you type is delivered directly from your browser to whichever AI provider(s) you have selected — OpenAI (ChatGPT), Anthropic (Claude), Google (Gemini), xAI (Grok), DeepSeek, Perplexity, Mistral AI, Microsoft (Copilot), Moonshot AI (Kimi), or Poe. This is the intended function of the Extension, not data interception. Each of those services processes your prompt under their own separate privacy policy and terms, which we do not control.
The Extension does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). Since we do not collect personal information from any user, this applies equally to users of all ages.
Because no data is collected or stored by us, there is no user data for us to retain or delete on request. The local preferences described in Section 3 stay on your device only and can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser's site data for the Extension, or by uninstalling the Extension.
